Not Jonah/Why Can't Chloe's Brains Squirt Water?/Little Negotiator

Jonah, my 4 year old son, has been very amusing lately. Hence this blog. I wanted a place to share his stories, comments, musings, pictures, etc., with family and friends. So here goes! A few recent tales to get us started in this world of blogging.

Tonight I was getting Jonah ready for bed. He informed me his name is no longer spelled J-O-N-A-H, that he wants to spell it J-O-N-A-H-Q-R-S-T. I told him, fine, we can call him "Jonahqurst" and he told me that just wasn't right. He said that I should have named him Batman. He went on to add that I could have named him Spiderman and that would have been fine, too, but he would have preferred Batman. Now why didn't I think of that?!

Yesterday Jonah came in from playing over at our neighbor's house. This neighbor is Chloe, and she's 7 years old. As soon as he got inside our door after playing, he excitedly announced "Mommy! Daddy! Chloe has WATER in her BRAIN!!". He thought more about it for a moment and said "Mommy, it's too bad Chloe can't squirt the water out. That would be cool!". Kids. (a side note: Chloe WAS born with hydrocephalus, and for some reason decided to tell Jonah about it that day).

Last night was Jonah's first sleepover at Grandma B's. His Aunt Cheryl stayed over there with him, too. Well, Cheryl had taken him to the store yesterday and bought him a toy. So today he expected to get another toy when they went out. Cheryl told him no. Jonah found a way to make a deal with her. He said "Aunt Cheryl, I have an idea. We can buy a pack of cars and I can keep some at Grandma's house and take some to my house". He got the cars.

Random Jonahism for the day: Out of nowhere he told me the other day "Mommy, I want a Facebook". That is one thing he will not be getting. I just don't see the need for a 4 year old to have a Facebook account. I think he should be at least 5 before he starts social networking. ;)
